System
The Leiden Genome Technology Center has all the necessary equipment to hybridize, scan, and analyze other microarrays than Illumina, Affymetrix, and FlexGen arrays. The most commonly used are Agilent and NimbleGen arrays. In principle, all 1 x 3 inch microarrays can be hybridized and analyzed at the LGTC. As long as the arrays fit in the hybridization stations or ovens, and can be scanned in a G2565BA Agilent Scanner in the Cy3 and Cy5 channel with 5 or 10 µm resolution, it can be done at the LGTC.

Commonly used arrays
  • NimbleGen
  • Agilent
  • Any other 1 x 3 inch brand of microarrays, fluorescence detectable in the cy3 and cy5 channel
See the Agilent website for more information on custom and standard Agilent arrays and the NimbleGen website for more information on custom and standard NimbleGen arrays.

Orders
Please place an order in the LGTC order system for the use of the hybridization buffers, the re-use kits, hybridization stations, and scanning with the Agilent scanner.

Planning and time span
The planning is up to you. Book your time in the hybridization station and Agilent scanner Yahoo calendar.

Data and data analysis
Copy your scanning data to an external hard drive. In all the cases: we will not keep your data for longer than three months, it is your responsibility to make your own back ups. We have to clean up the Agilent scanner data folder due to disk space limitations.
The LGTC has a data-analysis PC available for NimbleGen users with NimbelGen's latest version of NimbleScan installed. You need to be authorized to get access to this computer, there is also a Yahoo calendar available to make reservations.
